Step 3: Await application approval
We're dedicated to find the best homes for our once homeless pets and to make the adoption process a positive experience. To make sure we meet this goal, we carefully review all applications. We check all personal references and reach out to your listed veterinarians. Dog adoptions may also require a home visit before approval. If approved, you will get a call to schedule a meet and greet. Step 4: Take your new pet home
Bringing home a new pet is incredibly exciting. And adopting a pet from a shelter or rescue group is not only exciting, but it’s truly a feel-good experience as well. Every day, nearly 5,500 dogs and cats are killed in America’s shelters simply because they don’t have safe places to call home. By adopting, it means that each time you look into your pet’s eyes, you can feel good knowing that you truly did save a life.
