Whether you're a dog person, a cat person, or both...

​We have plenty of exciting opportunities that are so rewarding. We could not provide such remarkable care for our animals without the help of our committed, caring volunteers. The volunteers are truly at the heart of the rescue!

Shift Times

Mornings: 8AM - 11AM (Sunday through Saturday)
Evenings: 5PM - 8PM (Sunday through Saturday)
More Options: 9AM–1PM (Saturdays)

If you can't stay for a full shift and only have a small amount of time to spare, with a weekly commitment we'd love to have you on our team! 

If you're under the age of 16, a parent/guardian must accompany your first shift.

One of the best things about volunteering is you instantly see the results of your labor. 


​"After spending time with the animals, whether it’s taking them for a walk, giving them a bath or just showing them some love, their personalities come out and they start to shine. You can almost see the change in their behavior instantly. And that is something entirely rewarding."

    ​AUTHORIZATION FOR RELEASE OF VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
    I hereby authorize Paradise Animal Rescue, Inc. to obtain information and make contacts on all, but not limited to, the
    following items: references, agencies, credit reports, criminal background check, LCAC check, and any information
    necessary to perform a background check.

    I authorize all parties to release information or verifications requested by Paradise Animal Rescue, Inc. that will attest in the
    evaluation of my Volunteer Application. I also agree to hold harmless all parties supplying information requested to
    complete my application.

    I have been advised and understand prior to signing this authorization that information obtained will be confidential and
    will not be shared outside of authorized personnel of Paradise Animal Rescue, Inc.

    I certify that all information provided in this application is correct and that errors or misrepresentation of any information
    may be grounds to deny this application or terminate volunteer services.

    VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
    ​I HEREBY AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING:
    • To adhere to all the policies of P.A.R. and understand that failure to do so may result in my immediate termination;
    • To be present for scheduled shifts and to carry out duties promptly and reliably;
    • To maintain the dignity and integrity of P.A.R. with the public and to honor confidential information;
    • To immediately report any incidents with policies, working with other staff members, or animals by informing the shelter director via the Unusual Incident Report;

    I ACKNOWLEDGE THE FOLLOWING:
    • PAR has the right to request that a volunteer leave the program at any time for any reason, and a volunteer has the right to leave the program at any time without notice.
    • PAR staff and volunteers must adhere to all rules and regulations (verbal, written or posted) for the safety of themselves, other volunteers, staff, the public and animals. Failure to comply or jeopardizing the safety of others (human or animal) is subject to immediate dismissal.
    • PAR has my permission to take and use photographs where I am included in the image for use on the PAR Bulletin Board, newsletter, and online sites, as well as in newspaper articles, television and radio promotions.
    • PAR communications must come from the Director who is the sole and only spokesperson, unless specifically instructed by the Director. I am not authorized to initiate or be part of any communications to media, government agencies or private citizens regarding the operations and management of PAR, or for the purpose of eliciting funds, animal food, materials or donations for PAR. Any communications intended for PAR received by me will be immediately forwarded to the Director.
    • PAR activities are not limited to the premises, but include fundraisers at public and private events. My services are provided on a voluntary basis without pay or compensation and without liability of any nature on behalf of PAR. All services are performed by me at my own risk with full knowledge of risks including, but not limited to, risk of disease and injury.

    WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT
    ​This agreement is entered into with Paradise Animal Rescue Inc. in order to permit the Volunteer to work with the Rescue. It is for the benefit of Paradise Animal Rescue and each of its staff members, employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives (known collectively as an “indemnity”).

    Volunteers have been advised that the activity of working with the animals is hazardous and involves contact with animals that are unpredictable. As such, Paradise Animal Rescue cannot be held liable for injuries or accidents that may occur as a result of working with the animals. Volunteers understand that the following are some, but not all, of the risks associated with working with shelter animals:

    • Bites or scratches from animals
    • Being knocked down or pulled by animals
    • Slips/trips/falls resulting from wet floors or equipment
    • Hitting heads on objects such as cage doors, kennel walls, etc.
    • Water or cleaners sprayed in eyes
    • Flea or tick bites or ringworm infestations
    • Internal or external parasites
    • Human illnesses contracted from animals
    • Animal illness exposure to animals at home
    • Injuries related to lifting animals, food or equipment
    • Injuries caused by equipment
    • Exposure to cleaners, latex gloves, bleach, parasite control products
    • Loss of personal property
    • Any type of damage to car while parked on Paradise Animal Rescue property
    • Damage to clothing from animals, cages, chemicals, etc.

    Volunteers are aware that injuries, damage to personal property, and possibly death may occur as a result of participation at Paradise Animal Rescue. Volunteers agree that Paradise Animal Rescue and indemnities shall not be held responsible or liable for any injury, including death, damage, loss, or expense to Volunteer, whether or not such injury, is caused by negligence of Paradise Animal Rescue, any indemnities or a third party.

    Volunteers fully, completely, and unconditionally waive and release each indemnity from all rights, liabilities, duties, claims charges, demands, actions, damages, costs, attorney fees or expenses of any kind that Volunteers may have now or in the future against Paradise Animal Rescue or any indemnities relating to participation at the Rescue.

    Volunteers represent and warrant that he/she is physically and mentally fit to safely work with animals and the public at the Rescue. Should an accident or other medical emergency occur while participating on Paradise Animal Rescue property or while Volunteer is en route to or from Paradise Animal Rescue sponsored events and Paradise Animal Rescue staff members are unable to timely reach Emergency Contacts for medical authorizations, then Volunteer hereby gives consent for Paradise Animal Rescue staff members to authorize medical treatment.

    Volunteer represents and warrants that Volunteer has current medical insurance coverage and agrees to be responsible for any and all billings and debts incurred with respect to such medical treatment or services.

    Volunteers represent and warrant that each of them has the authority to enter into this agreement and have not been forced or coerced to enter into this agreement.

    If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable in any way, it shall be enforced to the maximum extent possible and all other provisions of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
